About The Role

For over 40 years Bell has offered a range of outstanding Young Learner Programmes to overseas students aged 7 – 17. These unparalleled courses combine academic excellence with an exciting cultural and social programme and provide students with a unique experience and exceptional care.

We are now looking to recruit enthusiastic, dedicated and responsible EFL teachers for our Young Learner Courses running at our our UK summer schools. EFL Teachers will plan and develop exciting and inspiring lessons for their students' level and will also participate in the cultural and social programme through excursions, activities, airport and pastoral duties.

With General, Business and Academic English plus our Business Leaders and Scholars courses on offer, we welcome applications from teachers with a range of skills, interests and experience.

Our schools in Cambridge, St Albans and Oxford provide both staff and children with excellent premises and facilities and we offer accommodation, meals and professional development opportunities.

Bell Young Learner courses operate from the following locations:
  • St Albans, Hertfordshire
  • The Leys, Cambridge
  • Tudor Hall, Oxford

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • CELTA/ Trinity TESOL Certificate or equivalent*
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Fluency in English
  • Teaching experience including Young Learners
  • Experience of producing academic reports and learning & teaching materials. 
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management/able to multi-task and work to deadlines
  • IT Literate
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Applicants MUST be eligible to work in the UK

*Courses must be externally validated, contain at least six hours teaching practice and a minimum of 100 hours of ELT/TESOL input. Applicants who have completed 100% online courses will not be considered.

Desirable:

  • PGCE
  • Delta qualified 
  • Experience of working in residential summer schools for Young Learners
  • Experience of teaching project based courses and/or task based learning
  • Experience of working with single and mixed nationality groups
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation etc. 
  • Experience of using technology to support teaching and learning e.g. Interactive Whiteboard, digital camera and digital videos. 
  • Interest in activities e.g. sports, art, drama and/or music.
  • Safeguarding training
  • First Aid 
  • Full Driving Licence
