About The Role

Are you a highly organised people manager, with a keen eye for detail? Can you set up and manage an efficient and effective student support service? Can you create a secure and nurturing environment for young learners? If this sounds like you, we’d love you to join our team of Student Services Directors working in one our four UK based residential young learner courses this summer.

As a Student Services Director, you will:

  • Ensure the efficient provision of administrative services to meet the needs of the course.
  • Set up and manage the course office, maintaining a well organised and responsive hub for information and support.
  • Work collaboratively with the host school on the provision of services such as catering and cleaning and ensuring the site is maintained as agreed, recording any damages or issues.
  • Induct and manage the Houseparents and Course Assistants, overseeing pastoral care to ensure the wellbeing and safeguarding of students.
  • Efficiently manage course resources.
  • Be on call and respond to emergencies as they arise, demonstrating quick thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Deputise for the Centre Manager as required.
  • Participate in the social programme and activities and pastoral duties as required;
  • Ensure the well-being and safeguarding of students is prioritised at all times.

About You

We are looking for candidates who are:

Organised You can manage multiple tasks and deadlines with precision and ensure attention to detail in all aspects of your work.

Responsible You consistently prioritise the safety and well-being of our young learners and keep safeguarding at the heart of everything you do.

Approachable You are friendly and easy to approach and create an atmosphere where staff and  students feel able to share concerns or issues.

Culturally sensitive You demonstrate an understanding of cultural differences and ensure an inclusive and respectful environment.

Enthusiastic You are passionate about working with young people and providing outstanding pastoral care.

We are especially interested in hearing from candidates with expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Previous management experience in an academic and/or residential environment
  • Office management experience
  • Pastoral or welfare experience
  • Counselling qualification
  • Safeguarding knowledge and experience
