About The Role

Bell is recruiting a Student Services Manager to join our Cambridge school. This role involves managing and delivering the student services and welfare provision for Bell Cambridge, taking a lead customer-service role at a world-renowned education provider for international students. The environment is fun and fast-paced, and involves working with young people from around the world.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver student support and information services, and ensure the student services department provides a consistently high level of service
  • Take primary responsibility for the pastoral care and safeguarding of students at Bell Cambridge, keeping up to date with safeguarding issues and regularly reviewing safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Manage the accommodation team, ensuring there is provision of high-quality homestay and residential accommodation to meet demand   
  • Manage accommodation in the Accommodation Officer’s absence and offer support during busy times
  • Deal with, record and monitor non-academic student queries and issues, ensuring they are efficiently seen through to resolution
  • Manage the Social Programme Coordinator and ensure the social programme is run to a high standard
  • Liaise with other staff within Bell such as teachers, sales and marketing staff, IT staff and our maintenance supervisor to ensure effective operations
  • Ensure student visa records are correctly and accurately stored and check that all students in school have relevant visas for their stay at Bell
  • Help prepare the school for inspections
  • On a rota basis, take  the emergency phone assisting the out of hours call handling service with any issues they cannot resolve
  • Assist with walk-in sales and promoting Bell Cambridge to visitors
  • Protect at all times the confidentiality of information handled within the remit of the post
This is a customer-facing role and is not suitable for home, hybrid or flexible hours working.

About You

As the first point of contact for students, it is important that the Student Services Manager is a skilled communicator who can provide excellent customer services. Experience of working with young people or working in a similar academic environment with young adults would be highly beneficial. An understanding of safeguarding young people and experience of dealing with safeguarding issues is also highly desirable.
