About The Role

Are you an experienced academic leader passionate about fostering excellence in education? Join our Young Learners Programme as the Director of Studies and play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional learning experience to students aged 7-17 from across the globe this Summer. You will live on-site to help create a supportive, safe and fun environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Management:

  • Oversee the academic components of the program, ensuring teaching and learning meet the highest standards and align with pre-course materials.
  • Manage student placement and assessments to ensure appropriate class levels.
  • Provide academic advice, tutorials, and feedback, including detailed student reports.
  • Organise and manage academic resources and equipment.
  • Provide feedback and reports on academic aspects to the Centre Manager and Young Learners Department.

Student Welfare:

  • Promote and safeguard student welfare, maintaining discipline and addressing emergencies.
  • Teach or supervise as required and support social functions and pastoral duties.

Staff Management:

  • Induct, and manage a team of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to support teacher development.
  • Organise and contribute to professional development programs and evaluate staff performance.
  • Ensure all academic staff adhere to policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.

About You

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent (essential).
  • DELTA qualification (essential).

Experience:

  • Proven experience in academic management or course coordination; experience in a residential setting is desired.
  • Strong teaching background, including project or task-based learning with young learners.
  • Expertise in teacher observation and development.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • IT literacy and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in a face-paced unpredictable residential environment that requires creative problem solving and occasional on call work.
