About The Role

Bell is recruiting for caring and nurturing Houseparents to join our Young Learner team this Summer. As a Houseparent you will be responsible for the care, supervision and well-being of students aged 7 – 17, fostering a home-from-home atmosphere, ensuring students feel comfortable and happy while they embark on the Summer Explorer course.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pastoral Care: Provide round-the-clock care for students, offering guidance, support, and optimism.
  • Supervision: Oversee the day-to-day routines in the boarding house, including wake-ups, mealtimes, curfews, and lights-out.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure all students are safe, cared for, and supported, addressing and reporting any concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Cultural Integration: Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment that celebrates diversity.
  • Engagement: Participate in evening and study tour activities to build rapport and encourage student involvement.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and welfare concerns, adhering to Bell’s policies and procedures.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with the teaching and activity teams to provide holistic care and support for all students.

About You

  • Passion for working with young people and providing high standards of pastoral care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and approachable demeanour.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience in a residential or supervisory role, particularly with young people, is desirable.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a busy and varied schedule, including evening and weekend duties.
  • Willingness to live on-site for the duration of the Summer Explorer programme.
