About The Role

Bell is recruiting Chemistry, Biology and Maths Tutors to work at The Leys school in Cambridge on our University Preparation Programme course for young learners this summer.

This course is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to embark on their university journey successfully. The 2 week programme combines inspiring taster courses in: Math, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, and Physics, a lecture programme, Academic English and study skills lessons, a social programme and excursions. The course is aimed at overseas students aged 14-17 that may be considering a University Foundation course to prepare them for study at an English-medium University. The students will have a good level of English, but English will be the second language for all students i.e., B2 Level of English Proficiency Common European Framework.

The course runs for a 6-week period from July 3rd – August 13th. Each course lasts 2 weeks and will have a different cohort of students, so lessons will be repeated across each course. Each subject teacher will deliver 6 hours of lessons in their subject per course (3 hours per week).

About You

Education Level:
  • Degree or Masters level qualified in Chemistry, Biology or Maths  is essential whilst PGCE or CELTA qualification would be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Teaching experience at GCSE/A Level.
  • Experience of teaching international students is advantageous.
